Tom Zahuranec was a cutting-edge sound artist and avant-garde musician originally from Minneapolis. An electronics and audio synthesizer wizard, he performed with Nick Bertoni, Paul Demarinis, Robert Ashley, Serge Tcherepnin, Maryanne Amecher, Jill Kroeson, Roger Kent, Jim Horton and others. Additionally, he was a member of the technical staff at Mills College in the mid-1970s. He is remembered for his Tibetan horn performances, and a pioneering, tele-kinetic plant-music performance in 1972 . Tom Zahuranec passed away in 1986(?).
"Once I saw Tom, on peyote, walk by a radio and it just slightly changed frequency. He noticed it immediately and began moving back and forth exploring the effect and an hour or so later he was running in patterns around the room changing the radio from one station to another."
