The Center for Tactical Magic established a social experiment to explore the potential for collective mental influence on plant growth. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to sit on a bench facing the plants and spend a few moments projecting positive and negative thoughts at the respectively labelled tomato plants. Each of the three plants (negative, control, and positive) receive equal soil, light, and water via an automated watering system. In addition, visitors are invited to take their own packet of organic "peacevine" cherry tomato seeds, complete with instructions on how to establish their own psychobotany experiment at home.

The CTM also presented a performance delineating the cultural roots of psychobotany. The performance culminated in a series of psychobotanical tests involving the participation of both plants and audience members. Audience members projected thoughts at plants, then depicted their thoughts by drawing on paper. The plants were then hooked up to lie detectors and attempts were made to match the drawings with the corresponding audience members based on signals from the lie detectors. The results were 100% positive.
